Beginning in the United Kingdom as SS Cars Ltd in 1922, the company was renamed Jaguar Cars Ltd in 1945 to complement the speedy, strong and sleek cars it has produced since 1935. Combining with British Motor Corporation to form British Motor Holdings in 1966, it then became British Leyland Motor Corporation (BLMC) in 1968 through a union with Leyland and Rover. BLMC became BL Ltd in 1975 after facing financial problems and nationalization. In 1984, it put Jaguar Cars Ltd on the London Stock Exchange as an independent company. In September 1989, For Motor Company bought Jaguar Cars Ltd and made it part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group. Its headquarters are currently located at Coventry in the West Midlands, while cars are put together at Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, Halewood and Liverpool. All luxury coupes, convertibles and sedans have the distinctive silver jaguar insignia on the hood, and have Royal Warrants from both HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Charles."
