The Acura TL was introduced in 1996 replacing the Acura Vigor. The first generation of this vehicle was offered with a 2.5 liter 20 valve 5 cylinder engine, which offered 176 horsepower. The other engine option was a 3.2 liter single over head cam 24 valve V6 that offered 200 horsepower. The second generation was offered with a new 3.2 liter 225 horsepower single overhead cam VTEC V6 engine. This generation had a lot of transmission problems, resulting in a lot of necessary repairs for owners. These problems made many consumers weary of the vehicle even after the problem parts had been replaced. The warranty was also extended on these vehicles so that problems could be taken care of. The third generation of the Acura TL is much more savvy than the first. XM Radio and other features make this car a great option for the consumer who wants a luxury sedan. This vehicle is outfitted with a 3.2 liter or 3.5 liter V6 engine. The engines produce 258 and 286 horsepower respectively, giving consumers the step up that they are looking for in horsepower, but still not offering the V8 like many want."
