Now in its second generation, the Audi A3 is an entry-level luxury vehicle but it ideally serves as a small family vehicle. Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, designs the A3 and it is available in two different body styles: the three door and the five door hatchback. The production of the A3 began with the first generation of the vehicle from 1996 to 2003. The second generation emerged on the market in 2003 and remains in production currently. It is a vehicle that is closely related to other vehicles like the Audi TT, the SEAT Le'n, the 'koda Octavia, the Volkswagen Rabbit and the Volkswagen Jetta.
The Audi A3 is capable of achieving sixty miles per hour in less than seven seconds and it houses a front mounted engine; the first generation was manufactured with a choice of engine configurations including the 1.6 Liter I4, the 1.8 Liter I4 and I4 Turbo, and the 1.9 Liter TDI I4. Later versions of the vehicle housed engines including the 3.2 Liter V6, the 1.9 Liter TDI I4, and the 2.0 Liter TDI I4.
