Like the Audi RS4, the Audi S4 is a dressed up and highly improved variant of the Audi A4. The vehicle is tremendously popular and is now in its fourth generation of production. The S4 is assembled in Ingolstadt, Germany with a front engine layout and four-wheel drive. The first generation ran from 91 to 94, the second ran from 97 to 2000, the third from 2003 to 2005 and the fourth generation was recently introduced in 2005. The 2005 Audi S4 lineup is as diversified as ever, making it a suitable vehicle for people from all walks of life.
The latest models are offered as a four-door sedan/saloon, a five-door estate, and a two-door convertible. Built with the B6 platform from Volkswagen, the engines in today's Audi S4s are 4.2 Liter V-8 engines that are coupled with either an automatic or manual six-speed transmission. The body dimensions vary depending upon the body style of the vehicle.
