The Cadillac XLR was first seen at the 2003 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, but its characteristic design was retained from the Cadillac Evoq concept vehicle that was showcased at the 1999 NAIAS. Since 2004, General Motors Corporation has been producing the two-door, two passenger luxury convertible. The 2007 XLR is fitted with a 320 horsepower 4.6L Northstar V8 engine; six-speed automatic transmission; Y-body platform, and 10-inch alloy wheels for an impressive drive. The well-appointed car also offers a power-retractable aluminum hardtop that within 30-seconds transforms the convertible in to a coupe; leather seats that can be cooled or heated to personal preference; interior wood trim; navigation display on a seven-inch dashboard screen, and side airbags. The Cadillac XLR was nominated for the North American Car of the Year award at the 2004 NAIAS. It has also made appearances on "Shark" television show, as well as on games like "Project Gotham Racing 2" for Xbox and "Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix" for Playstation 2."
