The Chevrolet Uplander is a minivan that was introduced to replace the Venture and Astro vans. The Uplander is built on the same platform as the Saturn Relay, the Buick Terraza and the Pontiac Montana SV6. These four minivans share most of their options across the board; however the Uplander has added an integrated child seat in the LS version which isn't found in the other three models. Introduced in 2005, the van is currently built near Atlanta, Georgia and comes with a base V6 engine of 3.9 L. Along with its counterparts, it comes equipped with a standard MP3/CD player as well as other available options. The Chevrolet Uplander has an improved crash test rating over its predecessor the Venture. This vehicle along with other minivans in its class are all slated for extinction. General Motors will end production on all mini vans: the Montana after 2006, the Relay and Terraza after 2007 and the Uplander after 2009. A crossover SUV, the Chevrolet Traverse will replace it."
