The Chrysler Crossfire replaced the Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler and is a rear wheel drive sports car that's sold by Chrysler marque and was designed by Eric Stoddard. The Crossfire is built by Karmann in Germany and shares nearly 40% of its components with some Mercedes models. The chassis is combined from a pre-2003 CLK floor plan, the S-Class rear linkages, a modified C-Class engine compartment with new stampings for the rear and side rails. The Crossfire comes with a six speed manual transmission and the five speed automatic transmission is an option. The base model is sold with a 3.2L V6, 18-valve SOHC engine. The vehicle is available as a roadster and as a coupe, and was put into production in 2003 but then halted in 2007 because of hindered sales due to flagging markets. It is an elegant car that fits well into Chrysler's line of vehicles from that time."
