The Dodge Caliber comes with different engines that produce varying rates of horsepower. Some of the engines that are installed are only available in specific regions of the world: this is particularly true in terms of the diesel Dodge Caliber engine.
The Caliber is manufactured in the SE and SXT model with a 1.8 Liter GEMA 14 engine and the manual transmission produces 148 horsepower, and 125 lb-ft torque. Meanwhile, the SE and SXT models with a 2.8 Liter GEMA 14 engine and automatic transmission, generate 158 horsepower and 141 lb-ft torque. The current diesel model with a 2.0 Liter turbocharged engine generates 138 horsepower with 229 lb-ft torque, but it is only available in Australia and Europe. The Dodge Caliber R-T possesses a 2.4 liter GEMA 14 engine with the ability to produce 172 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, the SRT-4 also possesses a 2.4 liter GEMA 14 engine with the ability to produce 300 horsepower and 250 ft-lb of torque.
