The Dodge Dakota combines the practicality of a work pickup truck with the easy handling of more luxurious vehicles. It comes with a standard 3.7-liter V-6 that generates 210 hp. This engine is a little weak for long term hauling, but the Dakota can be upgraded to a 4.7-liter V-8 that generates 230 hp or 260 hp and is more than sufficient for work. The 230 hp engine is E85 compatible. All engines are available in automatic or manual transmissions. The standard wheels on the Dodge Dakota are 16-inches, but 17 and 18-inch wheels are also available. The pickup comes in two basic designs, the Club Cab and the Quad Cab. The Club Cab has less seating space, but a longer 6.5-foot bed. The Quad Cab has more seating room and can seat up to six. It, however, has a smaller bed that is only 5-feet, 4-inches long. Rear or four-wheel drive Dakotas are both available. The fabrics used in the interior resist stains and odors."
