The Expedition meets the family requirement for cargo carrying ability, passenger room and the high capacity for towing a boat or trailer. This model is the flagship SUV for Ford and has had high sales figures since 2004. The high-powered V8 engine gives it the muscle to tow up to 9100 lbs.
The Ford Expedition debuted in 1997 as a full sized SUV that can seat 9 passengers. The gas efficiency is city 14 MPG and the highway at 20 MPG. This 4-door SUV is sleek in style and gives the passengers plenty of room for seating and leg space, as well as cargo space. Two special models are available only to police and fire departments. There is also an Expedition EL model which is an extended length version. There are future plans for both a hybrid gas-electric and a diesel model.
