Since 1982, the Ranger has been part of the Ford model line-up. This model is a compact truck that looks like one of its larger trucks that has been somewhat miniaturized. The Ford Ranger comes with either a manual 5 speed or an automatic transmission. The new model can be obtained in either a two-door or four-door version. At one time, for two years, this model could also be purchased as an electric truck. For over 20 years this compact truck has allowed Ford to keep its hand in the compact truck market.
The latest model comes with a 4-cylinder engine or a V6 engine and with three horsepower ratings, which are 143 hp, 148 hp and a 207 hp respectively. As you can see from all of the options that this model can be purchased in, Ford is trying to give its customers the choices they want in a compact truck.
