The Honda Accord has gone through seven generations since it was first introduced in 1976. The Accord is manufactured in America by the Japanese automobile company and was the best selling Japanese car for 15 years. This great selling spree started in 1982 and continued until 1997. The fuel crisis of the 70s helped jump start Honda sales because they were heralded as a fuel-efficient vehicles.
The horsepower of the Accord engine has increased slowly over the years from 68 hp to now over 125 hp. The models are offered with either manual or automatic transmissions, it has a sleek bodyline and very refined interior. It boasts a V6 engine and comes in many body styles from a two door to a four door to a hatchback to a five-door wagon. The large selection of body styles is ample proof of Honda's obvious popularity.
