Jaguar has a long reputation as a luxury car maker, and the X-Type is Ford Motor Co.'s attempt at a compact, entry level luxury sedan. The traditional Jaguar-styled exterior features a large arched roof, sloping lines, a rectangular front grille, hooded oval headlights, and of course, the trademark jaguar hood ornament. Using the tested and reliable drivetrain of the European Ford Mondeo, this line has been manufactured since 2001. Available in both a sedan and a sport wagon, these cars are powered by a 227hp 3.0L V6 engine and come with a five-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features on the X-Type include side curtain airbags, stability control, and all-wheel drive. All vehicles come with standard leather seats, power driver seat, a moonroof, and wood trim. A luxury package is available for the sedan, but many of the features included are standard on the sport wagon. Optional luxury features are also available."
