Jeep's crossover SUV, the Compass, comes with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that utilizes dual variable valve timing technology and creates 170 hp. It has a minimum cargo volume of 60.7 cubic feet, but when the 60/40 rear bench seat and the front passenger seat are folded down, the cargo volume increases significantly. The SUV sits on 17-inch aluminum wheels, and the Limited version comes with 18-inch aluminum or chrome wheels. The Compass is a front-wheel drive vehicle with all-wheel drive as an option.
Inside the Compass, a tilt steering wheel is included in all models, as is stain resistant cloth upholstery. All models seat up to 5, and include a single CD player that can be upgraded to a 6-disc changer. All models come with antilock brakes complete with traction control, as well as an electronic stability control system. The transmission is a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic. The Compass is an independent suspension vehicle.
