On the market since 2006, the Land Rover LR2 is a compact premium Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that combines the performance of a sedan with the toughness of a SUV. Its DOHC 3.2L inline-six engine is matched with six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel steer on a fully independent suspension. Standard off-road abilities such as a selectable sport mode and Terrain Response' are enhanced with features such as CommandShift' manual sequential gear change; Roll Stability Control for extreme conditions; and patented Gradient Release Control providing improved driver control during break release on steep or slippery slopes. The LR2 offers a "command driving" position - a Land Rover Trademark - with an elevated driver's seat while rear seats that are raised slightly higher than front seats for better view. Rear seats can also fold down to turn current 26.5 cubic feet of cargo space in to a maximum of 59 cubic feet, considered one of the best provided by vehicles of the same class.
