First emerging in 2005 is the Lexus IS250, a follow-up to the IS300 in the Lexus IS series manufactured by Toyota. A bit slower than the IS300 -- reaching 60 mph in eight seconds versus the seven seconds achieved by the IS300 -- the IS250 is a sedan that still offers up the luxury expected. The vehicle is classified as an entry compact executive luxury car. The models are eight years apart in production, with the IS300 first manufactured in 1998, and the IS250 manufactured in 2004 and made available to consumers the following year.
The entire IS series is manufactured in an effort to compete with BMW 3-Series vehicles. Lexus designers use strong sweeping lines, and L-Finesse styling concepts of simplicity and elegance to achieve the sleek appearance of the IS250.
