The LS series produced by Lexus includes the LS460 and the LS460L. The LS460 has a body length that is a bit shorter than the LS460L; the 'L' at the end of the model description literally stands for the word "long". First revealed in 2006 in Europe, the vehicle has recently been made available in the United States. The Lexus LS460 and LS460L are manufactured in Japan with the L-finesse design concept built into to every inch of the vehicle's making. An eight speed transmission, the first of its kind to be offered in a luxury vehicle, is built in and it is capable of reaching sufficient speed with relative ease. The fuel efficiency is 19 miles per gallon in the urban areas and 27 miles per gallon in the suburbs. Shortly after the release of the LS460, the makers of Lexus also made a hybrid version of the vehicle available."
