Part of the first generation of crossovers produced by Mazda is the CX-9 assembled in Japan. Containing the engine referred to as the Ford Cyclone, the Mazda CX-9 generates 263 horsepower with its 3.5 Liter V-6 engine and 249 lb-ft of torque. Three trim levels diversify the models consumers can choose from, which are the Grand Touring, the Touring, and the Sport trims.
The CX-9 is capable of accelerating to 30 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds; can reach 45 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds; can achieve 60 in 7.7 seconds, and finally, can obtain 75 miles per hour in a little under 12 seconds. The fuel efficiency is estimated to be around 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway: this is much like the CX-7, also introduced in 2007.
