At the assembly plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, the first Mazda6 was introduced for the 2003 model year. The first of the new generation of sporty, stylish, performance-oriented vehicles, the Mazda6 was designed to replace the former Mazda 626. The manufacturer offers this vehicle in three different models: Sports Sedan, 5- door sedan, and a Sport Wagon with two trim levels available on the sedans, the S and the I. Equipped with either a 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder or a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder, both engines are tuned for optimal performance and fuel economy, featuring variable valve timing and induction.
