The Mazda Tribute has a Ford influence that is discernable to those who know the Ford models well. The Tribute is a compact SUV that was built by Ford for the Mazda Motor Corporation. The 5-door SUV was brought out to fill the gap in their model line-up for a small SUV. This model first debuted in 2001 and has been manufactured each model year through 2006. Mazda has recently decided to skip the 2007 season for this model. The current plan is to bring out a completely revised model in 2008.
This American manufactured model was built in Kansas City. Buyers who have driven the Tribute have not voiced any complaints, except that they were somewhat concerned by the Ford connection. Most people who are familiar with Mazda and the way it treats its customers would not be concerned as the company does have a reputation for standing behind its models.
