Mercedes-Benz had safety in mind when designing the E Class series. The E Class features cars that with either a sedan or wagon body. Each car is equipped with the Pre-Safe collision mitigation system, which will adjust the interior, roll up windows, and tension seat belts when the radar in the car senses a crash coming. Antilock brakes, airbags, stability control, and adaptive cruise control are all also part of the safety package on these cars.
There are four engine choices with the E Class vehicles. The E550 5.5-liter V-8 is rated at 382 hp. The E65 AMG 6.3-liter V-8 generates 503 hp. The E350 3.5-liter V-6 is rated at 261 hp. There is also a diesel option, the E320 Bluetec 3.0-liter V-6 rated at 208 hp. This exceptionally clean-running engine runs so clean that it can pass California inspections when powered by low sulfur diesel fuel. The car has two available transmissions: a 7-speed or a 5-speed automatic with overdrive and auto-manual.
