Mercedes-Benz created a line of SUVs capable of going off-road with their G Class vehicles. It comes with standard DVD navigation as well as bi xenon headlights. The standard transmission is a 7-speed automatic with overdrive and auto-manual. A 5-speed automatic is available as well. The interior has several luxurious features, including a leather door grip, leather upholstery, AMB gauges, climate control, heated seats, rear parking assistance, the Tele Aid system, and a 6-CD changer with Harman Kardon sound system. All G Class SUVs are 4-wheel drive vehicles, with three locking differentials and rigid front and rear axles.
There are two engines available with the G Class SUVs. The first is the G500, which is a 5.0-liter V-8. This engine generates 336 ft/lbs of torque and 292 hp. The G55 AMG is a 5.5-liter V-8. It generates 516 ft/lbs of torque and 469 hp. The vehicles sit on a 112.2-inch wheelbase. The antilock brakes feature a brake assist that allows full-power breaking to occur automatically in a panic stop situation, and the vehicles include an electronic stability control system.
