Introduced in the early '80s, the Mercury Grand Marquis has been updated constantly. The current full-size, six passenger sedan includes a stout body-on-frame assembly, sturdy rear axle, and delicately tuned suspension calibrations. These combine well with standard features of four-speed automatic transmission and traction control in the rear-wheel steer sedan for respectable handling and better performance. The Grand Marquis, in GS Base and LS Premium models, is equipped with a 4.6L V8 engine, making the only vehicle of its class with a V8 engine. Safety in the Grand Marquis is supplied by Personal Safety System', which reduces driver and front passenger injury during impact, and four-wheel disc Anti-Lock Braking System. Security is reinforced with SecuriLock' anti-theft system and child safety locks on the rear doors. Making any cruise comfortable in the Mercury Grand Marquis is a snug and quiet interior, while a 21-cubic foot trunk means there is ample for holding big-size luggage or numerous bags for long trips."
