From 2004 to 2007, the Mercury division of the Ford Motor Company created the Mercury Monterey Minivan. The vehicle holds an engine that is a 4.2 Liter V-6 and the vehicle also has a transmission that is a six speed automatic. The vehicle was put together at the plant in Oakville, Ontario Canada, and it is spacious, with seating for up to a total of seven passengers with plenty of cargo space. A decline in the interest of the vehicle forced the end to the production of it; a vehicle nearly identical to the Ford Freestar.
Just over 1300 units of the Monterey Minivan were sold; interestingly, the minivan was named after a more popular vehicle manufactured by the Mercury division, the Monterey luxury car; a vehicle that had such a successful run that it saw six generations of production before the vehicle was retired.
