Mitsubishi Company Information
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was designed off of the Lancer platform for the World Rally Championship's Group A class, and also competes in the SCCA Pro Rally Championship. It was first released in 1992, and has continued as a sporty powerhouse in the intervening years, becoming so highly tuned that it shares little more than the unibody with the standard Lancer anymore.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, "Evo" for short, was originally to be released only in Japan, however the gray import demand for the sports car was so high that it was released to the United Kingdom and throughout Europe beginning in 1998, and went on to be released in the United States in 2003. This popular rally car focuses on light weight and performance, and is considered "tuned" compared to competitors despite worldwide safety and environmental regulations making it slightly heavier every year. The car is on Evolution X, and still going strong.
