General Motors first revealed the Saturn Aura early in 2005 at a North American International Car Show. The replacement for the Saturn L Series, the Saturn Aura is made with two different trims, offered with two different engines and two different transmissions. Meanwhile, in the first part of 2007, Saturn came out with a hybrid version of the Aura, one that offers a 2.4 Liter four cylinder engine with a four speed automatic transmission. The engine in the hybrid offers 164 horsepower/159 ft-lb of torque.
The Cadillac BLS, the Chevrolet Malibu, the Opel Vectra, the Pontiac G6, and the Saab 9-3 are all vehicles that have similarities with the Aura. The Aura Green Line Hybrid is capable of reaching a speed of sixty miles per hour in less than ten seconds, and it can cover a distance of a quarter of a mile in less than 18 seconds.
