Car Ownership Costs
When buying a new car, consumers have to take car ownership costs into consideration. Ownership of an automobile or truck will ultimately cause the consumer to incur different costs over the term the car is owned. First off, in order for the car to be on the road, registration, licensing fees and auto insurance must be purchased. In addition to car payments, the cost of maintenance not covered under warranty, the cost of using the vehicle and other special cost considerations are bound to affect the consumer financially. Consumers need to consider the fuel efficiency of a vehicle, how many miles per gallon they will get and how much fuel they will be using on a regular basis. Ownership costs can be reduced by the financially savvy consumer: theft deterrent installation, driver's education courses, and the occasional use of alternative methods of transportation can help keep car ownership costs to a minimum.
